### The
# Inquisition
>[!quote|gloss]
>Made to combat heresy, apostasy, blasphemy, witchcraft, and customs considered to be fiendish, using judicial procedure.
>[!card] About
>The Inquisitors are a sect of the Dawnguard who lead the country's judicial system, acting as the higher court of law and system of justice.
>
>Being justiciars of Étoile, outside of the courtroom they are responsible for handling infernal troubles and investigations; they aim to eradicate evil within the mortal realm and bring balance and goodness, through the act of slaying any demon or devils on the material plane, and preventing demonic interventions such as demons and devils seducing the commonfolk into deals and pacts and the like.
>
>Currently, The Inquisitors are most worried about some worrying signs of an old, long dead cult that they believe is attempting to make a return; The [[Sielmaaiser]]. They will stop at nothing to ensure this does not happen, and eradicate any cultists and attempts to bring back this evil.
