A Queen’s Guard member can be anyone from a simple guard who patrols the lower streets, all the way up to the personal bodyguards of the royal members themselves. >> >>Within The Queen’s Guard there is a loose hierarchy, the majority being lowly guardsmen, while the ones higher up and closer to the family have a far greater responsibility and weight put on their shoulders; these few guards in particular have sworn an oath to protect the family at all costs, the oath including a curse that ensures their own deaths if an untimely death befalls one of the members of the royal family. >> >>The role is not taken lightly, and only the most dedicated are able to make the inner circle of knights that find themselves frequently within the court and in the presence of a royal member, who entrust their lives in their hands. > >--- > >>[!noted|blank] >>### The Inquisition >>#### Captain [[Zephyr|Moonblaze]] >>The Inquisitors are a sect of The Dawnguard who deal specifically with infernal troubles and investigations; they aim to eradicate any demon or devils on the material plane, and prevent demonic interventions such as demons and devils seducing the commonfolk into deals and pacts, or summonings of these evil creatures on the material plane. >> >>Currently, The Inquisitors are most worried about some worrying signs of an old, long dead cult that they believe is attempting to make a return; The Sielmaaiser. They will stop at nothing to ensure this does not happen, and eradicate any cultists and attempts to bring back this evil. > >--- > >>[!noted|blank] >>### The Clergy of Grigori >>#### Pope Augustine Anaciti XI >>The Church is in charge of the religious worship of Etoile in the kingdom; the followers here are priests, clerics, bishops, deacons and the like, instead of guards, knights, or paladins clad in armor. >> >>They are the ones that work more so with the people of the kingdom, hosting masses, prayers, ceremonies etc such as baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc, that are all available and accessible to even the lowliest of peasants. The church has the largest sway of all The Dawnguard sects of the church and reigning monarch. > >--- > >>[!noted|blank] >>### The Scholars of Thesos >>#### Archmage Cain Zealmont >>The Scholars of Thesos, also known simply as ‘The Scholars’, are the more research and informative sect of The Dawnguard, the complete opposite to The Clergy of Grigori, who are entirely faith and divination based. >> >> The Scholars aim to seek, gain and spread knowledge, and are the librarians, doctors, wizards, architects, inventors, artists and artificers/mechanics of the kingdom.
